Transport safety

The security of goods and shipments is a key component of our transport organisation. Alpensped proactively monitors the transport chain and implements various measures to identify and mitigate transport risks at an early stage.

A transport security concept developed in collaboration with an automotive client includes, amongst other things, a risk analysis and measures relating to the cargo hold, drivers, vehicles and transhipment points. Potential transport losses are recorded and analysed using a specialised tool. In conjunction with our carrier management system, this enables us to establish a structured framework for monitoring and further developing our security processes.

Our contracted carriers are selected and qualified according to defined criteria. These include, amongst other things, appropriate training and the verification of relevant documentation. The vehicles used can be tracked via GPS, ensuring that transport routes and vehicle locations are traceable.

Alpensped is a member of the Transported Asset Protection Association (TAPA) and takes part in regular training sessions and international knowledge-sharing initiatives. The information available there on secure lorry parking areas and incidents along supply chains supports our work in the field of transport security.

Further measures include, amongst other things, the monitoring of selected transports and consignments, unannounced checks at selected checkpoints, the analysis of transport losses, and specialised technical equipment for vehicles.
