Dobro došli!

As an experienced transport service provider, Alpensped has been shipping many loads within Southeastern Europe for a number of years and is therefore familiar with the conditions in the Balkans. Our forwarding agency is operating in Bosnia and Herzegovina for the agriculture, steel and wood industry as well as the automotive industry.
Our services not only include the organization of your transport, but also the customs clearance of your goods as Bosnia is not yet a member of the EU. Our skilled, native-speaking dispatchers are a great advantage here.

In Bosnia and Herzegovina we are currently heading for the following destinations:
Shipping to Bosnia and Herzegovina takes place in the cities of Sarajevo, Banja Luka, Tuzla, Zenica and Mostar.
Infrastructure and road traffic
19,500 km of the 23,000 km long road network are asphalted. The motorway network is not yet fully developed and some of it is still being planned.
The Bosnian highways are subject to charges. The route-dependent toll can be paid at the toll stations either in cash (in local currency or Euros), with a credit or debit card or electronically by transponder.
The construction of the A1 motorway has contributed to an improvement in the infrastructure in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Nevertheless, there is a lot of potential for optimization in this area. As soon as further planned projects to expand the transport network are implemented, Bosnia will assume a stronger position as a transit country.

Economy and foreign trade

A trade deficit results from the difference between the export of goods of € 7.2 b. and the import of goods of € 9.9 b. The decisive export and import countries include Germany, Croatia, Serbia and Italy. The main export products are metal goods, shoes, furniture and furniture parts. Most of the imports are crude oil and products as well as road vehicles.

Country and culture
Bosnia and Herzegovina is located in south-eastern Europe on the Balkan Peninsula and has a small stretch of coast on the Mediterranean. The landscape is mountainous and about half of the land is forest. In one of the three Bosnian national parks you will find the oldest virgin forest in Europe called Perućica.
Bosnian culture is shaped by the cultural differences between the three major ethnic groups. The Bosniaks, Croats and Serbs not only speak three different languages and belong to three different religions, but also practice their own customs and traditions which leads to an ethnic division of the country.
